Reaching the edge

Written by Fiz

I am reaching the edge of my patience regarding Dubai's redtape laws. It is so so discriminative. And it is all because my passport is an 'asian' passport.

I have never faced so much discrimination because of it.

Daniel doesn't face the same problems as I do but I appreciate his support and patience regarding the matter.

I am still happy in other areas- as it seems promising. But the only thing that bug me so much lately is the redtape laws. It seems there is nothing much that I can do. And I am so so frustated.

Please don't ask me how Dubai is. Just please offer me help.

Been living in this country since birth...I couldn't agree with you more...this place has sucked the life out of some people and worst is the fact that people come to terms with it and start reciprocating in the same way..they change their attitude completely...people come here with a clear mind...and end up with messed up lives themselves...too lost in the money and the class system...!! Hope you guys can survive and make it through..!!!

Before my visit to Australia I had a very stereotypical view about them..because stereotyping is what Dubai'ns rely on...but my views changed....Dubai'ns need to start thinking beyond their bank balances and cars...it will take some time...but I am sure they will get there..!!

Cheers!

Thanks mate for your words.

That's so true about Dubai. I fear that I will come to 'accept' the class system. It is so foolish.

I think Dubai'ns have to start looking beyond the race and see a person for who they are. Unfortunately, money plays such an important part here because expats dont get the same support from the government as the nationals.
