I really do think Dubai is the most 'baffling' city in the world. I have heard of cases where a man was sentenced to a month in jail for showing the middle finger, stupidly at the police officers, men and women were sentenced to couple of months in jail including lashes for adultery or pre-marital sex.
But, why oh why, can someone please explain to me why Dubai, it seems, have the most number of hookers/prostitutes on the streets and bars that I have ever seen? They don't even hide it. You can see girls everywhere on the streets - with their short skirts and heavy makeup. You can see girls in bars just waiting to pounce on any guy walking in.
Why are those girls not arrested? More importantly, why are the guys who seek for these girls not arrested?
And trust me, teenagers in this place know that they can get away with seeking prostitution. I have heard teenage boys talking about prostitution places and 'people they know'.
Middle East can be a joke. They talk about 'bad influences' of the 'West' a lot but I think they should just look at their backyards and get a reality check. And for ***** sake, do not put religion into the picture again.
