Lots and lots of it

Written by Fiz

Many apologies for the long delay in the posts. Daniel couldnt be bothered to write anything here so you're stucked with me. I have been extremely busy lately with nothing else but golf. Ive played so much golf in the last month, I am deliriously happy. I look forward to a golf game all week.

So far, Ive played at Majlis course in Emirates Golf Club, Dubai Creek Golf Club, Montgomerie Golf Club and Al Hamra Golf Course in Ras Al Khaimah. Before the summer golf, it was Jebel Ali Golf Club and Arabian Ranches Golf Course.

I took pictures in all the golf courses except for the Montgomerie and I wish I did. Its a very nice golf course with luxurious big villas around the course. (some housing about 10 bedrooms!). I will take some pics of it for future posts.

Last weekend, I spend two days playing at Al Hamra GC. The trip to Ras Al Khaimah (another emirate in United Arab Emirates) is about an hour's drive. I went up there on Friday with a bunch of guys and it was, I find, worth the trip. We all had fun on the golf course teaming up on a matchplay stableford format and I played the best game in ages. (2 over gross score).

The next day, I took the trip down there again, this time on my own for the Al Hamra Summer Open. I call it work related but I can't stop smiling throughout my 'work' hours. I can't imagine, after all these years, I am actually driving through the desert in United Arab Emirates to play golf and this is actually work related.

My company co-sponsored the event.

The next few weeks, I'll be busy with Demo Days and more golf games. I look forward to it all. Many have asked whether the heat is a concern, but I don't mind the heat when I am playing golf. But I do have a vengeance for it when I am just walking about. I am weird, that way.

Picturesque Dubai Creek Golf Club. One of the nicest golf resorts Ive had the pleasure of playing. Its right by the Dubai Creek so you get such a nice view of the Creek and Old Dubai.

Theres no such thing as walking in summer golf here. Golf is a luxury sport here and you do tend to appreciate the small details that the golf courses do to make your visit more personal. If you can see it, they even printed out our names on our golf carts. And every few holes or so, you'll see a guy in a cart bringing out wet towels for us to cool down. Excellent service in almost every golf courses Ive been to so far.
